Luka Doncic commented on a late-game exchange with Bennedict Mathurin, saying, "If you can talk shit, start it early. You know how I do."
Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks with 34 points, seven rebounds, and a season-high 15 assists on Monday night. However, his efforts weren't enough to secure a win against the Indiana Pacers, who came out with a 134-127 victory.
As the game entered its crunch time, the Pacers employed different tactics to disrupt Doncic's rhythm. Indiana wing Bennedict Mathurin began trash-talking Luka, leading to a heated exchange between the two at the game's end.
"He started talking shit with one minute to go," Doncic shared in the post-game conference. "You know what that's about."

"If you can talk shit, start it early. You know how I do," Luka added with a smile.
Despite his strong statistical output, Doncic is still searching for consistency in his game. In the loss to Indiana, he shot only 38% from the field, making nine of his 24 attempts.
This season, his shooting percentage is 6% lower than his career average, and his three-point shooting has dipped by 3% as well.
"I think it's just rhythm. I will get there, don't worry," Doncic said. "I'm feeling [my shot] more and more every day."
