Ergin Ataman called Panathinaikos' game against Efes terrible, calling PAO a junior team.
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens suffered a 26-point loss against Anadolu Efes Istanbul in the EuroLeague's Round 15 game on Friday. After the match, PAO head coach Ergin Ataman admitted defeat.
Last week, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade won against Panathinaikos by an 18-point margin. At that time, it was the largest loss for Ataman while being PAO's head coach.
This week, PAO shot field goals at only 33% accuracy, and the record was broken again.

"We started the game very badly, missing a lot of easy baskets under the rim with our bigs. Then, we lost game control. Efes played a great game tonight. Especially with [Shane] Larkin's contribution, they play differently. We know that they play that kind of game at home," Ataman said in the post-game press conference.
"We didn't answer in offense. We had a terrible performance tonight. Incredible. We played like a junior team," he declared.
Panathinaikos played without Kendrick Nunn, who got suspended by the EuroLeague for his outburst at a referee in the previous round's game against Partizan.
"In sports, these kinds of things can happen. Of course, we miss our main offensive player, who is the key to our offense," Ataman said. "In the night we didn't use Nunn, we had terrible field goals from our perimeter players. This is a normal result. Congratulations, Efes played a great game."
