Kevin Durant reportedly has a desire to play alongside Jimmy Butler, and a significant contract extension is awaiting Butler at Phoenix Suns.
Speculation is mounting about where Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler might land next, particularly with recent discussions surrounding the Phoenix Suns.
Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins has suggested that the Suns are prepared to offer Butler a lucrative extension.
"From my sources, the Suns have a 2-year, $121 million extension waiting on Jimmy. ... It's about relationships. The relationship is Jimmy Butler and Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant wants Jimmy Butler, and if he does get Jimmy Butler, they'll both gonna sign contract extensions," Perkins mentioned on the Road Trippin' show.
Butler himself recently admitted that he has lost his joy playing in South Beach and expressed a desire to play elsewhere. This situation has escalated, resulting in the Heat suspending Butler for seven games for conduct detrimental to the team, which has fueled trade rumors.

The Suns may have to consider including Bradley Beal in any potential deal. The conversation gained momentum when Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer decided to move Beal to a bench role.
However, Beal holds a rare no-trade clause, making it highly unlikely that he would agree to waive it.
Given the Suns' $216 million payroll, they are operating under second-apron trade restrictions, which complicates their ability to acquire Butler without involving Beal.
Butler was eligible for an extension worth up to $113 million during the past summer and has already made around $200 million in salary during his 5 1/2 seasons with the Heat, with another $25 million still to come this season.
