Dzanan Musa is set to return for Real Madrid in the 2025 Copa del Rey after recovering from a left ankle injury.
As the 2025 Copa del Rey tips off, Real Madrid fans have reason to be optimistic. Bosnian shooting guard Dzanan Musa is expected to return to action after a brief injury setback, says journalist Carlos Sánchez Blas.
Musa had been sidelined since twisting his left ankle in the first quarter of a EuroLeague matchup against Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Though he initially attempted to play through the injury, he was unable to return for the second half and subsequently missed games against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Hiopos Forca Lleida.
His absence left a noticeable gap in Chus Mateo’s rotation, as Musa had been one of the team’s most reliable offensive weapons, he averages 15.4 points in Liga Endesa and 11.9 in EuroLeague.

Now, with the Copa del Rey set to begin in Gran Canaria, Musa appears ready to make his return just in time for Real Madrid’s opening clash against BAXI Manresa.
While it remains to be seen whether he will be at full strength, his presence is a major boost for Madrid, especially with Gabriel Deck already ruled out due to injury.
Head coach Mateo will still have tough decisions to make, as he will need to make two roster cuts for each game in the tournament. However, with Musa back in the mix, Real Madrid’s title hopes remain strong as they aim to lift yet another Copa del Rey trophy.
