Kevin Durant reiterated his interest in the EuroLeague, naming FC Barcelona and AS Monaco as potential future destinations while affirming his current commitment to the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant isn't thinking about retirement just yet, but he hasn't ruled out the possibility of his final basketball chapter in the EuroLeague.
Speaking at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game Media Day, Durant named FC Barcelona and AS Monaco as potential destinations in case his last dance is overseas.
"I doubt it right now. I play in the NBA, but I love watching EuroLeague, too," he told Mundo Deportivo's Toni Canyameras. "Barcelona would be a nice place. Monaco would be nice, too. For now, I love Phoenix. I'm staying here."
KD has long shown an appreciation for European basketball.
In 2022, he visited AS Monaco during their EuroLeague Playoff series against Olympiacos to support his close friend and former Brooklyn Nets teammate Mike James. He has also hinted multiple times in the past about wanting to play for Barca.
Before Durant can consider a move overseas, he has unfinished business in the NBA.
Prior to the February 6 trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves all explored the possibility of acquiring him.
However, no deal materialized, as the 36-year-old never requested a trade or expressed a desire to leave Phoenix.
Despite that, ESPN's Brian Windhorst expects Durant to be on the move this summer -- especially after reports emerged that he was unhappy about being included in trade discussions.
For now, KD remains with the Suns, earning $51.1 million this season. He is under contract for one more year at $52.7 million for 2025-26.
