Paul George is pausing his podcast to focus on his health and help the struggling 76ers make a playoff push.
Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George is putting his podcast on hold to focus on the team's playoff push.
"I want to let the Podcast P family know that after today's episode with Dwight [Howard], I plan to take a break from the Pod just to focus on getting my body right, getting mentally right, and helping this squad make a push toward our goal to finish the season out give ourselves a chance to be in contentions to compete for a championship," George said.
George launched Podcast P with Paul George in 2022, featuring discussions about basketball, his personal experiences, and interviews with NBA players and other guests.
This season has been a challenging one for the 34-year-old veteran. He has battled multiple injuries, including tendon damage in his left pinky, requiring injections to stay on the court.
So far, George is averaging 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 43.2% from the field and 35.5% from three.
His production comes amid a tough season for the Sixers, who are 20-37 and sit 12th in the Eastern Conference.
To make matters worse, the team faces uncertainty surrounding Joel Embiid's knee injury, which could require surgery and end his season.
