San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has undergone surgery for the deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, after being diagnosed with it after the All-Star Game in February.

There's positivity in his rehabilitation process, and there's even hope that he'll represent the French national team this summer for the EuroBasket.

According to the head coach of French national team Frederic Fauthoux, Wembanyama is eager to represent France this summer, but there's still a lot of uncertainty.

"We spoke with Victor before his surgery, and he is motivated to be part of the team," Fauthoux said via L'Equipe.

"We will see how his physical condition evolves, and we’ll make a decision when the time is right. Until then, there will be some uncertainty. But he feels good, and everything is going well with his rehabilitation," he added.

Victor Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks in 46 games this season before his campaign was cut short by a health scare.

His addition to the French squad would significantly boost their chances of competing for a gold medal at EuroBasket this summer, as they will face elite competition, including Luka Doncic and Slovenia in the group stage, and potentially Giannis Antetokounmpo in the later rounds.
