The Miami Heat will be without guard Tyler Herro for now, as the team ruled him out ahead of Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a thigh contusion.

Herro, who is in the middle of his best season yet and earned his first All-Star selection, suffered the injury on a fastbreak during Thursday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra, before the game against the Bucks, gave an update on Herro’s status.

"Yeah, he's doing as much treatment as he could. I mean, you guys saw the play, it was on that fast break, just had a contusion there. We'll treat him day-to-day."

When asked if Herro's availability for the rest of the regular season was in doubt, Spoelstra didn’t want to jump to conclusions.

"I don't want to go there, I don't know why you're going there, but we'll see. I mean, the body will let us know. But our focus is on everybody else that's available."

Still, Spoelstra remains confident in his group. "We have enough to focus on one game," he said. "And this group has really shown a lot of fortitude, the mentality of not making excuses, but just to continue to get better and find a way to put ourselves in a position to win this game."

"Milwaukee, obviously, is playing for something, and Giannis is playing great, their three-point shooters are stepping up. We know the challenge, but our guys look forward to that."

This season, the 25-year-old guard averages 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 46.9% from the field.

Heat after a loss against the Bucks, have a record of 35-43, which puts them 10th in the Eastern Conference as they continue to fight for seeding within the play-in tournament.
