The NBA has officially announced its three finalists for the 2024–25 Most Valuable Player award: Oklahoma City Thunder Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic, and Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The MVP race has been one of the most talked-about storylines of the season, especially between Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic, who both had dominant individual campaigns while leading their teams to strong postseason positioning.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the league in scoring, putting up 32.7 points per game along with 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

More importantly, he guided the Thunder to an NBA-best 68-14 record, making them the top seed heading into the postseason.

Nikola Jokic, a two-time MVP and one of the most efficient big men in league history, averaged a triple-double with 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists.

He led the NBA in rebounding and was the engine behind Denver’s 50-32 record, good enough for home-court advantage in the early rounds of the playoffs.

Giannis Antetokounmpo stayed dominant all season, finishing with averages of 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks.

He helped Milwaukee hold down the fifth seed in the East with a 48-34 record despite injuries and inconsistency around him.
