Morant, who had been dealing with an ankle issue heading into the game, clarified that his injury did not play a role in the loss.
"It felt good, I was available," he said, indicating that he wasn’t limited by the injury during the game.
The Grizzlies struggled defensively throughout the contest, and Morant highlighted the team's lack of intensity, particularly in the first half.
"They had a lot of easy looks, which pretty much got to wherever they wanted on the floor," he noted, pointing to the Thunder’s offensive dominance.
Despite the lopsided loss, Morant stayed positive about the Grizzlies’ chances.
"If we win Tuesday, the series is 1-1. This game won’t matter," he said, remaining hopeful that Memphis can regroup and even the series in Game 2.
In the loss, Morant scored 17 points, dished 4 assists, and grabbed 3 rebounds. Marvin Bagley III added 17 points and 5 rebounds.
