PJ Dozier on Nikola Jokic's influence: "He tries to encourage me regularly and guides me about the things that are happening there."
Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic earlier revealed that he reached out to his former teammate, PJ Dozier, who made the move to Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade this summer after their time together in Denver (2019-22).
When Nikola Stojkovic of Mozzart Sport asked about Jokic's insights into Serbian basketball and the Partizan fans, Dozier affirmed the accuracy of his observations.
"Absolutely," Dozier laughed. "My expectations were met, and everything I heard about the basketball atmosphere in Serbia came true. It's very exciting. My experience so far has been very nice, and I've been welcomed here with open arms.

"There is definitely a family atmosphere, so being separated from family and home is not so difficult. I can freely say that I have a family here in the players, members of the coaching staff, fans, and everyone around. I am happy."
Dozier also revealed that he and Jokic stay in regular contact, supporting each other from afar.
"Yes, we talk often," the Partizan player pointed out. "He watches our games, and I watch him and Denver, too, when time allows. He tries to encourage me regularly and guides me about the things that are happening there."
When questioned about their conversations regarding time in Serbia, Dozier shared, "I write to him that I try to keep up with everything that is happening. Sometimes, I tease him a little, but we have such a relationship."
As for encouraging Jokic to be even better, Dozier said with a smile, "Always (laughs). He knows that."
