Joel Embiid is set for another period of time off the court after suffering a sinus fracture against the Indiana Pacers. Embiid will be re-evaluated this weekend.
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid just can't avoid injuries, with freak accidents happening so often for 2023 NBA MVP.
Last night during the game versus the Indiana Pacers, Embiid battled for a defensive rebound late in the first half catching an elbow of Bennedict Mathurin to his face.
This is not a first facial injury for Embiid, as he already suffered from orbital bone fracture in 2022 after colliding with Pascal Siakam, and one in 2018 when he collided with his then-teammate Markelle Fultz.
Embiid is riddled with injuries this season, participating in only 6 of 23 games Philadelphia played, succumbing to knee swelling and incident with a reporter that caused a three-game suspension.
When playing, Embiid averaged 20.3 points, 7.7 rebounds 3.8 assists and 20.2 EFF on 29:17 minutes per match.
