Dallas Mavericks were interested in acquiring Ben Simmons of the buyout market, before him signing with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers snagged Ben Simmons, after he reached a buyout agreement with the Brooklyn Nets. But apparently the Clippers weren't the only team wanting to sign the former 1st overall pick.
According to Marc Stein, the Dallas Mavericks were interested in pairing Ben Simmons up with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis.
The three-time NBA All-Star can still be a really effective player when driving to the basket, with his size and mobility. 28 year-old proved that in the first game playing for the Clippers. In the debut game against the Utah Jazz, Simmons scored 12 points, on almost perfect 4/5 shooting from the field, and made 6 assists in 27 minutes of playing time.
Ben Simmons has career averages of 13.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists, being a triple-double threat every time he steps on the court.
