James Harden shared his thoughts on the MVP race, saying that most NBA players are rooting for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to win the award because of his strong season and team success.
James Harden had high praise for two of the league’s biggest stars when asked about the MVP race this season.
While speaking about the standout year Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having, Harden made it clear that players around the league are rooting for him.
"All the players, we wanna see Shai win the MVP because of the season he has and the winning," Harden said per Rachel Nichols. "But of course, Jokic is the best player."
Shai has been one of the most electric players this season, leading the Thunder to one of the top spots in the Western Conference standings.
During the regular season, he averaged 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 51.9% from the field and 37.5% from three.
On the other side, Nikola Jokic continues to do what he’s done for years now, control the game with his unmatched basketball IQ, elite passing, and efficient scoring.
Serbian big man this year averaged a triple-double with 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game. He shot 57.6% from the field and 41.7% from three.
